UC Davis Clinical Trail & Victoria Pouchés

For many of you who have attended our events you know Victoria Pouches' story.  She attended a Golf & Gala for Ovarian Cancer and through our awareness resources discovered that she may have symptoms of this silent disease.  She took action and has been a strong supporter of the #TeamJags team and efforts.  She has been a key note speaker at our even TWICE!  Here is a great article written by the Lodi News-Sentinal about her recent journey with UC Davis's clinical trials.

From the article:

'The first things you notice about Victoria Pouchés are her infectious smile and laughter. She credits her positive attitude with helping her successfully fight cancer.

Diagnosed with late stage ovarian cancer in October of 2013, she was once told by doctors to start preparing for hospice care. But the strong, independent woman was determined never to give up. The feisty 60-year-old from Lodi continued her long and courageous battle, and after being enrolled in an immunotherapy clinical trial at UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, her biomarkers today do not show detectable levels of cancer in her blood, and she’s regaining her strength and stamina that once let her run marathons.'

Pam Braun & The Ultimate Anti-Cancer Cookbook

Team Jags is very excited to announce that Pam Braun, author of The Ultimate Anit-Cancer Cookbook, will be speaking live at the 5th Annual Golf & Gala for Ovarian Cancer.  Learn about her story and her fight to survive below.  She will be speaking at the Gala on August 1st, 2015.  Click here to register now!

Pam Braun’s love of cooking started early, and has continued throughout her life.  It began with her preparing dinners for her family of seven at the age of ten, progressed to her managing her first restaurant at twenty-one, and moved on to her owning her own at the age of twenty-nine.

She was diagnosed, at the age of 52, with late-stage fallopian tube cancer. She was given a 15% chance of survival and a 75% chance of recurrence.

Her fierce determination to do all she could to help matters through her cancer journey led her on a still continuing expedition through the science of food and its relationship to cancer.  Her research has led to the development of The Ultimate Anti-Cancer Cookbook, bringing her combined passions for good food and healthful living together.  Pam currently lives happily, healthfully, and cancer-free in Los Angeles.
